International Cooperative Education (ICE), since 1971, has been providing American college and university students with the unique opportunity to gain practical work experience abroad. Each summer ICE arranges for students to travel to Europe, Australia, Asia, and South America to work as paid interns in an array of employment fields including retail sales, hospitals, banking, education and engineering. ICE has arranged over 15,000 internships since 1971

Come and learn how you can explore Japan through the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Program! Sponsored by the Japanese government, over 6,200 participants from 40 countries around the world are currently taking part on the JET Program, working in public schools and local government offices throughout Japan. All majors are welcome, and no prior teaching or Japanese language experience is required!

International coffees, teas, cocoa and cookies will be served. Free literature and materials will be available to take home as well.

David Abernethy is Emeritus Professor of Political Science. The focus of his research has been on Africa and issues of international development. His articles and chapters in books include "European Colonialism and Post-Colonial Crises in Africa" and "Bureaucratic Growth and Economic Stagnation in Sub-Saharan Africa," he is the author of The Political Dilemma of Popular Education: An African Case (1964). His most recent book, The Dynamics of Global Dominance: European Overseas Empires, 1415-1980 (2000), has been highly acclaimed as a major advance in the study of colonialism. He received the Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award for his contributions to undergraduate education in 2002.
